Lake Miyagase

The beautiful Lake Miyagase in Kanagawa was another highlight from our summer vacation. This gorgeous lake is actually a man-made reservoir that supplies water for Yokohama and Tokyo. E, K and I drove to the lake with my in-laws and spent the afternoon splashing in the creek and soaking up the sun. (Well, actually, more like burning under the sun. But it was a nice sort of burn.)

It was really just so nice there. The water. The sky. The colors. There were so many different shades of green that surrounded us that day. It was ridiculous. Here, just take a look.

On our way back home, we stopped by a small farm to get some freshly made soft serve ice cream. It was packed. Well, not as much as Disneyland but pretty packed as far as farms go. And while everyone lined up for ice cream, E was busy sitting on each and every tractor that was on display in the field. The girl loves everything on wheels.

It was basically just one of those perfect summer days.

  1. Your photos are gorgeous! What a fun day for E! I think it’s such a great educational experience loaded with fun! I always love seeing you in photos. The one in this post is beautiful!

    • Thank you, Kaho! I agree, there is so much our kids can learn through interacting with nature. Living in Tokyo it’s hard to get them immersed in that kind of environment, so this type of experience is really important. (PS. I always feel a little weird when I include photos of myself, but thanks for the comment!)

  2. Oh my gosh what an amazing day for your little girl!

LOL even our kids are similiar! Haha my son loves anything with wheels. The ice cream would not hold his interest he would rather sit on the tractors too.

I’m glad you got to go visit such a beautiful place with your husband! It’s so important to spend the limited amount of time with your loved ones when you can.

    Amazing photos as always Miwa!

    • Thanks, Dina! I bet our kids would get along. Or maybe they’d fight over the same thing? haha, either way, I agree, they seem similar ;)

Lake Miyagase was so beautiful. It’s been a while since I was surrounded by so much nature so it felt extra special. Of course, K being there made it even better ;)
